You can view Turnitin Student Submission Reports in the Canvas Gradebook. The report features colorful visual cues to indicate how the students scored on their similarity reports.
Important: A similarity percentage is not, by itself, evidence of plagiarism; instructors should review the matched sources and context.
- Navigate to the gradebook by clicking Grades in the course navigation.
- Locate the column for your assignment with Turnitin enabled.
- You will see a small square representing the Turnitin similarity indicator.
- The indicator is color-coded, according to the similarity score or status of the report, using the following scale:
- Gray: similarity report not yet generated
- Blue: no matching words found
- Green: 1-24% similarity index
- Yellow: 25-49% similarity index
- Orange: 50-74% similarity index
- Red: 75-100% similarity index
- Clock: Turnitin report is pending.
- Click on the similarity indicator - the Gradebook cell will become editable, and an arrow will appear to the right of the box. Click the details arrow to open the grade details.
- Click the SpeedGrader link to view the similarity score.
- Click the similarity score to view more details.
