Creating a Playlist in Panopto

This article is for faculty and staff who use Panopto to organize and share course videos. By reading this article, you will learn how to create a playlist in Panopto, add videos to it, and prepare the playlist to be embedded in Canvas.

Before you begin, make sure all videos you want to include in the playlist are uploaded to Panopto and stored in the same folder. If you need to upload videos first, see Adding Videos to Canvas.

Create a Playlist

1. In the folder where the videos are stored, click Create > Playlist.
2. Give the Playlist a unique name and click the Create button. 
   Note: If you do not give the Playlist a unique name, duplicate Playlist names can make searching and managing content difficult.

3. Under Videos in Playlist, click Add Videos.

   

4. Select the videos that you want to be in the playlist and click the Add.
5. You should see a notification that they have been added, and can then click Close and exit the playlist settings. The page will refresh and you will see the playlist listed among the other videos. 

Embed the Playlist in Canvas

You can embed a playlist in Canvas the same way you embed a single Panopto video. When selecting content to insert, choose the playlist instead of an individual video.
